2022-23 RECIPIENT OF THE SARDAR MALUK SINGH SANDHU ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE AWARD

Congratulations Gurjapp Singh Jhajj

Gurjaap Singh Jhajj

Hello! My name is Gurjaap Singh Jhajj and I’m so thankful to Hands2Inspire and Waheguru Ji for being the recipient of the Sardar Maluk Singh Sandhu Academic Excellence Award!
I’m currently a junior at UC Davis pursuing an economics degree. I am blessed to have grown up in the Bay Area with a Sikh family where Waheguru Ji and sewa have always been the utmost of importance. Remembering Waheguru Ji and doing sewa at the Gurdwara or community service is why I’m blessed with this award.
Just like how Sardar Maluk Singh Sandhu dedicated his life towards sewa with his kids and grandkids following suit creating organizations like this, I’m also inspired by my late grandparents, and my parents. My family and I are also connected to Sahaita, a nonprofit like Hands2Inspire that also supports the education of youth at home and abroad among other sewa.
I hope Waheguru Ji continues to bless Hands2Inspire so more people are presented with great opportunities like this. I encourage everyone to engage in sewa and remember Waheguru Ji - Waheguru Ji will bless you with everything in return.

Congratulations Josie Pruitt

I am Josie Pruitt, a Junior at Asbury University, in Wilmore, KY. I am studying Music Therapy with hopes of working in a hospital setting one day. I love music, and the healing properties it can offer people of different backgrounds. I also enjoy theatre, and hope to do some musical theatre on the side of college, and my future career. I am originally from Greensburg, KY where I was the Distinguished Young Women of Green County for the class of 2020. After I won my local program, I went to state and had the time of my life. I was blessed with the opportunity to become a Distinguished Young Women of Kentucky Intern and board member. I am so honored to have the amazing opportunity of receiving this scholarship. I cannot wait to see all the other lives this scholarship will impact in the future!
